BOOK BILLY TO SPEAK AT YOUR NEXT EVENT

FEATURED ON TEDX, JIMMY FALLON, FOX AND MORE

I spend a lot of time on the road. Sometimes it’s flying into a city I’ve never been to, sometimes it’s driving a rental car that smells like old French fries (or worse).

I'm sure you've been on your fair share of road trips, too...but when's the last time (since driver's ed) you noticed or really paid attention to the road signs as you drive?

You know the ones.

“Yield.” “Detour.” “Construction Zone.” Some are helpful, some are annoying, and some make you wonder who came up with them in the first place.

And most of us are blowing past them at 80 miles an hour.

One day, I was driving down the road and got to thinking about how meaningful those signs actually are, and how they're not "just" about navigating the road. If you really think about it, they can be practical tools to consider on our journey as leaders as well.

That’s the idea behind my keynote, The Road to Success. It’s a journey through the signs we usually ignore—and how they can actually point us toward better decisions, stronger teams, and a clearer path forward.

This keynote is about noticing what’s right in front of you and then applying it in a way that changes how you lead, how your team works, and how you show up tomorrow.

What You’ll Discover Along the Road

I won’t give you the whole map (gotta leave a little curiosity for the keynote itself ), but here’s a sneak peek at a few “signs” we’ll stop at:

  • Crossroads – When the GPS gives you two options, how do you pick?

  • Yield – Sometimes the best move isn’t stepping harder on the gas, it’s letting someone else drive.

  • Detour – What if that frustrating roadblock is actually the path to your biggest breakthrough?

  • Merge – Because collaboration is basically the HOV lane to success.

Each one has a story, a laugh, and a practical takeaway that you can actually use when you get back to work the next day (in my humble opinion, this is what many keynote talks are missing).

Leveraging the Signs

Noticing the signs isn’t enough. You’ve got to know how to leverage them.

Because here’s the deal:

  • A Yield sign only works if you actually slow down and let someone else merge.

  • A Detour is frustrating… unless you see it as a way to discover a better route.

  • A Construction Zone is messy, but it’s also where the real building (and progress) happens.

When you learn how to use these signs the right way, they stop being random things on the side of the road and start becoming tools that help you lead, grow, and actually enjoy the ride.

Why Event Planners Love This Talk

Here’s the bottom line: this keynote makes people think, laugh, and most importantly, act.

Your audience will:

  • See challenges in a new light (hello, “construction zones”).

  • Walk away with tools to navigate uncertainty and change.

  • Leave fired up and ready to do something about it—the very next day.

And because I customize the journey for every room I step into, your audience won’t get a cookie-cutter talk. They’ll get one built for them. Think your event theme, your company's values, etc.

A Final Word from the Driver’s Seat

Look, life is full of signs. Some of them we ignore. Some of them we misread. And some of them, we just need someone to point out and say, “Hey, this one matters.”

That’s what The Road to Success is all about. It’s not just another keynote or boring speech. It’s interactive, empowering, practical, and something your people will remember.

Sound like something your team or audience would benefit from? I couldn't agree more.
